A Cornish animal charity recently received a celebrity blessing from Stephen Fry and they are now hoping that this will result in raised awareness of their work. The famous British actor and comedian has adopted Joey, a disabled monkey who lives at The Monkey Sanctuary, near Looe.
The Monkey Sanctuary is home to 37 monkeys who have been saved from terrible living conditions. Stephen Fry’s adopted capuchin monkey was saved from a London flat where he lived in a cage for 9 years.
The work of The Monkey Sanctuary has made the lives of these monkeys so much better, and those on Cornwall holidays can see this for themselves on a fun day out to the wildlife centre.
There are capuchin monkeys, woolly monkeys and barbary monkeys to visit and they are all so different from one another. Get to know them all! There are even Keeper for a Day experiences where you can handle the monkeys after training. For a great day out with the family, pay a visit to The Monkey Sanctuary.
