The aim of Cafe Scientifique is to promote public engagement between scientists and members of the public, and the Exeter branch do this is through free public lectures that take place throughout Exeter. The lectures aim to be interesting, thought provoking and understandable by a layman, even though they are given by experts in their respective fields.
If you’re enjoying a stay in a Devon caravan park then you can also take the chance to turn up to one of the lectures. The next is on Monday February 6th at the Exeter Phoenix, and discusses titanium and the possibility of it becoming a much more common material.
If something like this sounds perfect for you, then the lectures take place at 8.30pm and last for an hour. You’ll have an opportunity to ask questions, and should hopefully find that you are given something to think about for the next few days.
