Of course, when you’re enjoying a Devon caravan holiday, you’ll want to get out and explore the county. Each of our parks comes with a list of recommended attractions for you to visit whilst staying with us, so you don’t have to worry about having nothing to do. We’ve even put together lists of local beaches for you to visit, so when you’d rather spend a day by the sea you can rest assured that we’ve got some great suggestions. Devon’s coasts offer spectacular views and the opportunity to spend a day relaxing by the beach or walking along the cliff tops. Or you could spend a day in one of the many seafront towns and villages that you’ll find. Whatever you choose to do, you’re sure to have fun and feel much more relaxed at the end of the day.

If you’d prefer to get out into some natural wilderness, why not consider a walk on Exmoor or Dartmoor? Both offer spectacular views and give you a superb opportunity to get out in the fresh air. Exmoor’s coastal walks will lead you to Lynton and Lynmouth, with their fantastic, water-powered cliff railway, whilst Dartmoor’s tors provide fabulous views across the county and some exhilarating hiking routes to boot! You could also take a much more relaxed approach and drive to one of the National Trust’s car parks, then take a short walk to some great picnic destinations or sight seeing spots. Lunch next to a river in a field littered with large, granite boulders is a great way to eat.

Getting out on the water is easy too on both the north and south coasts of Devon. Fishing trips or wildlife spotting trips regularly sail from ports throughout Devon, and are a great way to spend a morning or afternoon. You can spot porpoises, seals, numerous sea birds and, if you’re really lucky, even basking sharks. Both the Bristol Channel and the English Channel lie of Devon’s coast, but regardless of whether you’re facing Wales or France, there’s plenty to do both on and around the water.
