There are some beautiful beaches in Cornwall, and plenty of those also have superb waves that are perfect for surfing or just messing about in the sea. Knowing this, the National Trust has set up the World Bellyboard Championships, allowing people to break out their traditional wooden boards and ride the waves, rather than taking to the water on modern surfboards.
Anyone can get involved, whether you want to enter the sea yourself or just wish to watch the action from the shoreline, and there are a mix of fun sessions and serious competitions, so you don’t need to be a skilled bellyboarder to join in.
If this sounds like something new and exciting that you’d like to either try out or watch during your stay in a Cornwall holiday park, head to the World Bellyboard Championships website to find out more. The competition takes place on September 2nd.
