The weekend will once again be compered by Roger Shepherd.

Roger’s showbiz career started in Norway in 1969, and by 1972 he was Danish International DJ champion.  Fluent in five languages, Roger is a bit of a surprise package, and since his DJ start has now a successful second career as a Line dance instructor, compere AND DJ.

He currently hosts five line dance weekly classes, co-runs a well regarded live music club, and is one of the longest qualified dance instructors, having qualified 22 years ago. Always smartly dressed, and possessing a wicked sense of humour, we are thrilled that Roger is joining us once again.

The acts are confirmed as follows:

Fri 24th (eve) - Henry Smith Band

Henry Smith is one of the most influential Country Singers in the UK. Henry has regularly appeared on television performing live in the studio as well showing footage of his performances on stage. He currently co-presents the  Smith & Rogers Country Show.

His love of country music started at a young age with stage performances from just 5 years old! He has since shared the stage with the likes of Billy Yates, Mark Chesnutt and Heather Miles. He won the BCMA Entertainer of the Year from 2010 to 2013 and the BCMA People's Choice Award in 2014.

Sat 25th (aft) - Thrillbillies

The Thrillbillies are a duo specialising in Country Music. Their ethos is simple - play good music and entertain with a smile on your face!

They are Dave Anderson and Ed Cox. Dave has a long country music pedigree having played with Wishbone, Jon Derek & Country Fever and Campbell's Country. He has also featured on many albums on guitar and as a vocal session artist. Ed is a top class vocalist who has performed with Dave for the last 15 years and is well known for his stunning ballard renditions.

Sat 25th (eve) - The Ian Highland Band

Unfortunately due to ill health the Paul Martin Band regrettably will no longer be able to perform at our Country & Western weekend. Paul Martin expresses his sadness and sends his deepest apologies.

But do not fear, we have found a fantastic replacement for our headline act and now The Ian Highland Band will be performing as the Saturday night main event.

Ian has been brought up on country music since the day he was born. His first involvement in the British country music scene was as a roadie to The 'Stewart brothers and First Chapter'. After Kevin, (one of the Stewart Bros) decided to go his own way, Ian tagged along and continued to learn the country music business whilst still working as a roadie. This experience steeled his resolve to one day front his own band.

In the early 90's Ian's work took him to the USA, and there he formed his own band called Highland's Country Band. After 5 years, Ian decided to come back home to the UK, then joining a band called 'Alaska' for about 3 years. Ian then decided to take a long break from playing live gigs. During this time however, he fulfilled his dream of going to Nashville to record a CD on Music Row.

Ian and his band are now a top name in the british country music scene and their album track 'Carmen' achieved number one in the British and Irish HotDisc charts for two weeks in February 2012. Their current album track 'Much Too Young' made No 1 for four weeks on 28th October, 2012.

If you're already a fan of country music, then Ian and the boys really need no introduction. Formed three years ago in 2009, they are now one of the most popular bands on the circuit today. With a repertoire of mainly classic favourites, Ian and the band have firmly impressed all fans with their own imitable style and interpretation.

Sun 26th (aft) - Tumblin Dice

TUMBLIN’ DICE  are a fairly new duo who are taking the scene by storm.

Fronted by the lovely Emily Oldham, who plays very good acoustic guitar, and is a mega country music fan, equally at home with older, standard material as with todays’ Nashville songs.  She sings them with a superb, strong and melodic voice.

Her partner in the duo, Dave Griffin, is a highly respected guitarist, and has plied his trade for many years down in the West Country, with super ‘Eagles- styled’ bands such as Blackrock.

All in all an excellent duo, who are set for a big future.

Sun 26th (eve) - Chris Dunne Band

The Chris Dunne Band are a country band who have been called the find of the year 2013 by Hannah Valize of Cross Country Magazine. They are completely ‘live’, and cover well known traditional country music right up to todays ‘new country’ classics. The band consists of Chris Dunne, Roly Eales, Tom Brierley, Lee Feltham, Nick Bevan and the renowned Gerry Hogan.

Chris is fairly new to the country scene, but very active in theatre and the dramatic arts for many years. Three members of the band were members of the highly successful ‘Liza Marshall Band’ and carry vast respect and experience. The pedal steel duties are performed by Gerry Hogan, who travelled the world with top guitarist/vocalist Albert Lee (Albert Lee & Hogan’s Heroes, Everley Brothers, Emmylou Harris etc)

You’re guaranteed a great night of country music with Chris and the guys.
