2014 ThunderCat National Championship Finals at Fistral Beach
Fistral beach is famed for its incredible waves and is without doubt my favourite break to surf during my holidays in Cornwall.
Tourists flock to beach all year to watch and photograph awesome surfing displays, but they might have to double take this weekend when they witness aerial displays from an altogether different water sport.
The 2014 ThunderCat National Championship Finals are back at Fistral and if last year is anything to go by, it's a spectacle not to be missed for anyone visiting our Cornwall holiday parks!
If you've not seen these inflatable catamarans in action before, just think Formula 1 on water!
Teams from around the world will be battling it over the 20th and 21st of September in the final rounds of the RYA National Championship. Spectators will be treated to 12 racing heats before an all out 9 lap show down.
If the weather whips up some waves again you can expect these flying machines to catch over 20ft of air!
This is an event you're unlikely to top on the UK shoreline and it's just a short journey up the coast from Perran View Holiday Park, so get yourselves down to Fistral and take in the action during this Indian summer.
