Devon is a dream to explore with its beautiful beaches, lovely woodland areas, stunning coastal paths and quaint towns and villages. All of these places are even more beautiful under a blanket of frost at this time of year, so we have put together a list of our top 5 winter walks near our Devon holiday parks.
Appledore & Northam Burrows
This circular walk follows the South West Coast Path along the estuary to the nearby Northam Burrows Country Park where there are miles of beautiful trails and stunning views of the coast to enjoy. Start the walk from the quay in Appledore and head along the river and on to the Burrows where you will find an array of wildlife and attractive views.
Buckland Abbey
Blow off the cobwebs with a winter walk around the breathtaking woodlands at Buckland Abbey. There are three main walks that vary in length and difficulty and all of the walks are dog friendly.
Little Dartmouth
If you are enjoying one of our Devon holidays over the festive period treat yourself to a stunning walk to Little Dartmouth. The first part of the route enjoys superb sea and country views before returning along the coast path to head back inland.
Salcombe Hill
Enjoy the incredible views of the Devon Jurassic Coast on this gentle walk around Salcombe Hill, when you are staying at our Devon caravan park. This walk leads out to a viewpoint on the cliff top with amazing views over Sidmouth and Dorset
Westward Ho!
The seaside isn't just for the summer time; frosty paths and fresh sea air make a wonderful winter walk in North Devon. The two mile route will take you around the best bits of Westward Ho! and Bideford areas with chance to take in the stunning views over the Bay.
