Adrenaline fuelled ‘Flyboarding’ arrives in North Devon!
You guys must have seen them, the water propelled hoverboards powered by jet skis? They’re called Flyboards, and flyboarding is latest water sport to sweep the globe.
If you’re anything like me, always in search of the next adrenaline fuelled activity, you’re in luck as flyboarding has officially arrived on the North Devon Coast!
Flyboard UK will be opening its first centre at Watermouth Cove, close to our UK holiday parks in Ilfracombe and Combe Martin, on Friday 3rd April.
The centre will offer locals and visitors the chance to try the activity themselves, and channel their inner Marty McFly.
Chris Hemmings, founder of Flyboard UK, found what he believes is the perfect location during a short break in the area. He said: “We were having a weekend away in a house at Combe Martin in October last year when we stumbled onto Watermouth Cove and saw that there were jet skis operating out of there.”
“At that time we were looking for a number of bases in the South West to operate our flyboarding company, and it really was the perfect place for us.”
Flyboarding will run alongside existing watersports at Watermouth Cove, including jet ski safaris and the ever popular coasteering.
Chris added: “With the watersport centre that is developing here I think we have something special. And when someone does flyboarding they tend to bring their family, which will bring benefits to the whole area.”
Those of you staying at our North Devon holiday parks over Easter can pencil the 3rd April into your diaries. What an awesome activity to tell your mates all about when you get home!
