Celebrate National Park Week
If you're like me you'll love to get out and about and enjoy nature on your holiday in Devon. This week is National Park week so I've taken a quick look at 5 activities you can take part in on our fabulous Moors.
Bogtastic - Exmoor
Now in it's 3rd year, Bogtastic gives all the family a chance for fun with a Bogstacle Course (not one for me with my bad back), steam dipping, live bats and lots more both indoors and outdoors. It's free entry and last year over 400 people came.
Mobile Phone Photography Course on Dartmoor
Instagram sensation (so Paxo tells me) Jo Bradford leads small groups aruond Dartmoor giving advice on how to get the best pictures on your mobile phone. She follows this up with hints and tips on post production for truly stunning pictures.
Walk from Combe Martin to The Hangmans - Exmoor
Follow this 5 mile walk starting in the seaside town of Combe Martin where we have two holiday parks along the coast. There are stunning views from the headland at Great Hangman which is Britain's highest sea cliff. Definitely one for me.
Geocaching & Letterboxing - Dartmoor
Hunt our carefully hidden clues using good old fashioned maps (perfect for me) or new satellite navigation devices. It's like a good old fashioned treasure hunt that will take you through the charming landscape. Did you know that Letterboxing is the original form of Geocaching and originated on Dartmoor. Much better than trying to find Pokemon!
Cycle Route - Exmoor
Not for the feint hearted, this 60 mile circular route was used in the South West leg of the 2007 Tour of Britain. Yes there are stepp climbs but with them come spectacular views.
