Charlestown’s Poldark famous harbour sold!
Many of you staying at our Cornwall holiday parks would have visited the historic Grade II listed Charlestown harbour, particularly off the back of Poldark's success.
Well did you know the 18th century harbour has officially been sold in the past few days?
Just weeks ago the cast of Poldark, which included Aiden Turner, were spotted filming scenes for series two in the harbour, which has now changed hands after being on the market for three years.
The site boasts an impression portfolio of films and TV shows, including Dr Who, The Eagle Has Landed, The Three Musketeers, Treasure Island and most recently Poldark.
The estimated £4.4m purchase includes the sale of Square Sail Shipyard, Charlestown harbour, workshop, the filming and production business with marine-based filming capability and the famous tall ship Phoenix.
Shane McCarthy, of new owners Square Sail Ventures Limited, said: âI am absolutely delighted to be the new owner of this iconic and world-renowned business.â
âThe filming and production aspects of Square Sail represent a great fit with Atlantic Production.â
âI have always been fascinated by the marine industry. I am excited to be taking the business forward.â
