Cornwall bakery creates ‘The University Survival Kit’ for pasty lovers
It's Friday so I thought I'd give you some light-hearted foodie news involving Cornwall's most famous snack!
You can't keep the pasty out of the headlines for long, and it's back in the news after a bakery close to our holiday parks in Cornwall has tailored a pasty-package to university students.
Prima Bakeries has recently launched a university pasty survival kit, for students moving north of The Duchy who might miss their home cuisine.
'The University Survival Kit' has been developed by bakery worker and student, Dan Thompson, who said: "When I was away I really craved a decent pasty.â
"The prices you pay in London are ludicrous. I've paid £5.25 for a pasty before. That's why we created the student survival kit for students like myself who are away and are dying for that taste of home."
The tasty hamper is purchasable online and can be shipped anywhere in the UK â so even those as far as Newcastle uni don't miss out! For a modest £29 you can expect 12 Prima pasties, including the award-winning peppered steak pasty as well as standard steak and vegetable options.
They even throw in a good old' tin of beans â the most versatile student food ever!
Managing Director of Prima, Mark Norton, added: "Starting university can be daunting enough, so a little taste of home will go a long way to helping students settle into their new life.â
OK so this is targeted to uni students, but what about tourists at home from their holidays in Cornwall with a pasty shaped hole in their lives? Don't worry folks, there are other pasty packages you can purchase online, so you continue to get the taste of Cornwall after your breaks.
