Devon grabs the ‘best place to live in the UK’ title
The Foxy Club and I have been saying it for ages, guests at our Devon holiday parks often suggest the same, but now it’s been officially confirmed that Devon is the best place to live in the UK!
And that’s according to popular publication Country Life Magazine, which scored counties against a number of categories before crowning Devon the winner. The survey found that those living in the county enjoy a better quality of life than anywhere else in the UK.
The magazine rated counties across 19 unique categories, including health, schools, environment, and heritage.
Devon topped five categories on its way to the overall win - green credentials, local food, pubs, heritage and landscape.
Mark Hedges, Country Life magazine editor, said: "Few counties can match the variety that Devon manages to pack inside its borders.”
"Devon has always had a special place in many people's hearts as a favourite place for family holidays, to escape city life, and to retire. Our survey shows that Devon really does deliver the dream."
This is the second time Country Life has run the survey, the first being back in 2003, and there’s no guessing who took top place that time – Devon again!
This news is no real surprise to us here at John Fowler Holidays. Guests that fall in love with the county during their Devon holidays will often register an interest in owning their own holiday home at one of our stunning Devon caravan parks.
