Exciting programme of theatre, music and art at new Somerset Fringe Festival
Buongiorno friends!
I've been spending a lot of time at our caravan parks in Somerset recently, and have some juicy info about an awesome new event in the area.
Do you want to hear all about it..?
Well, it's the much anticipated Somerset Fringe Festival, the region's spin on the famous Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and will showcase local art, theatre and music across 2 weeks in August and September.
New event organiser, Re:ACT Theatre School, is expanding the Weston festival into more North Somerset towns like Clevedon, Backwell, Burnham-on-Sea near our Sandy Glade Holiday Park and even down to Taunton.
The festival will feature live performances, entertainment and interactive workshops from August 24th to September 6th, aiming to put the county on the map while rounding off the summer in Somerset.
Director of Somerset Fringe Festival and Re:ACT, Natalia Barrett, said: âSomerset Fringe is a local festival showcasing emerging and existing talent in the heart of the South West.â
âOur aim is to encourage diverse entertainment across the mediums of music, dance, art and drama.â
âCurated by the work of local artists as well as seasoned professionals, our programme celebrates the established as well as the undiscovered. This summer we encourage you to experience innovative, playful and ambitious work without having to head to Edinburgh.â
A number of venues close to our holiday parks in Somerset have already been confirmed, these include places like Somerset Hall, The Pier and Princes Hall in Clevedon and The Playhouse and Blakehay theatres in Weston-super-Mare.
Exciting acts like Bristol Old Vic Theatre Company and West End actress Ria Jones have already been confirmed, with more to follow!
