Glastonbury and the US await for Devon indie rock band
This summer, holiday parks in Somerset will be bustling with families who prefer to stay offsite for Glastonbury.
Those who were lucky enough to get tickets will able to support local Devon indie rock band These Reigning Days, who have been signed up to play at this year's festival.
Their record label, Ecco Recordings has won funding totalling £162,380 via Crowdcube. Last minute investment, which included an undisclosed sum from celebrity chef Heston Blumenthal, saw them generate over £70,000 in addition to £90,000 they pitched for.
This money will go to supporting the band's US radio tour in June, with plans also in place for a European tour during the summer.
Ecco Recording's Sarah Woodward said: âThere are so many positive things happening for the band right now and we truly believe they are on the cusp of something great.
âThis means we can take advantage of some fantastic opportunities that are opening up.
âIt's absolutely fantastic and we are very, very grateful to everyone at Crowdcube. The investment has got us over the line and now we can build on that.â
These Reigning Days have played Glastonbury before, as well as the biggest open-air festival in Europe, Woodstock.
They had an Italian MTV rock chart number 1 and a top 20 in the Virgin Rock charts with last year's single 'Too Late'. This year's single 'Opera of Love' is set for release in May and featured on the soundtrack for the Winter Olympics.
