Happy Devon Day!

Happy Devon Day everyone! With 3 Devon holiday parks we are delighted there is a day dedicated to celebrating this fantastic county! When you are on one of our Devon holidays you will be sure to find lots of famous Devon specialities to enjoy.

To celebrate the very best of the county I have made a list of my favourite five things in Devon:

Cream Tea - Devonshire cream teas have been made with cream on the bottom and jam on top ever since their origin in Tavistock Abbey in Devon. A cream tea from the south-west consists of little more than fresh scones, fruity jam, clotted cream, and a lovely pot of freshly made tea.

There has been a huge debate for many years between the Cornwall and Devon way to eat cream tea. It takes a very brave person to suggest who is correct, however, cream is like the butter and you wouldn't put butter on jam would you?

Beaches - With two separate coastlines, all of the beaches in Devon have enormous character and are all extremely beautiful with breathtaking views. With 14 blue flag beaches, a selection of secret beaches, dog friendly beaches and large popular beaches there is a beach for everybody in Devon.

Walks - Walking in Devon is a wonderful thing. Whether it is a short stroll, an epic hike or a winter walk you can chose from miles of Devon's countryside and coastlines. With the mild climate in Devon you'll find unspoilt beauty and tranquillity Devon is very popular with walkers. You can also explore Dartmoor and Exmoor National Parks, and the South West Coast Path that run across 205 miles of the north and south coasts.

Attractions - During your holidays in Devon you will be spoilt for choice with amount of attractions for families, thrill seekers and those looking for some traditional Devon culture. Take your pick from theme parks, farm attractions, zoos, country estates, historic houses and gardens, castles and much more. Many Devon attractions have won awards at regional and national levels down to the fantastic experience they offer!

Sunsets - According to research the sunsets in Devon are amongst the best sunsets in the UK. From beaches to harbours, National Parks, landmarks, valleys and towns you are guaranteed to witness a magical sunset wherever you are in Devon.
