Ilfracombe among 4 North Devon coastal communities to receive funding

Some wonderful news here in North Devon has brightened us up, despite this ongoing wet weather in July!

Ilfracombe, where 3 of our holiday parks in Devon are located, is one of 4 coastal communities to receive government funding, after bids from North Devon Council proved successful.

Fremington Quay, Barnstaple and Lyn Valley join Ilfracombe's Coastal Community Team in receiving £10,000 which will go towards tourism projects in the area.

Here in Ilfracombe the £10,000 will be used to help economy in the high street. At Fremington Quay they'll be using the windfall to increase walking and cycling visitors. Barnstaple will use the grant promote its maritime history while Lyn Valley want o build on the Valley of the Rocks as a filming location and increase visitors through new media.

Councillor Rodney Cann said: "These Coastal Community Teams bring together councils, local businesses and residents, so that together we can collaborate and put this funding to good use.”

"We are fortunate enough to live in a beautiful coastal area and these funds will enable us to help make the most of this, promoting our seasides and our heritage to visitors, whilst supporting the economy at the same time."
