June & July to Reach 30C as May Looks Set to Smash Records!
Are you coming to stay at our holiday parks in Cornwall, Devon or Somerset this June or July?
Reading the latest weather reports, I hope you have your factor 30, sunglasses and flip flops at the ready?!
After last week's mini heat wave, you could be forgiven in thinking our summer had come and gone a little early. But more sun is expected for the remainder of this month, which could see thermometers hit 30C making May the hottest on record since 1833!
The good news doesn't stop there, forecasters are predicting âheat wave after heat waveâ throughout June and July.
Exacta Weather Forecaster, James Madden, said: âIf this May period continues to shape up with what is now expected to be dominant high pressure and warm to hot temperatures throughout, then there is no reason as to why this month can't challenge or even breach one of the warmest May periods on record - potentially for the warmest in 172 years.â
The Met Office added high temperatures are expected through June until the end of July, as a result of the historic El-Nino event which occurred last year: âSeveral seasonal prediction systems, including the Met Office system, give a high probability for the development of La Niña conditions by the end of the forecast period.â
Mmmm...I can almost taste the BBQs already!
I'm looking forward to seeing all you guys on your holidays in Cornwall, Devon and Somerset taking advantage of the beautiful Westcountry weather.
