Newly Renovated Jubilee Pool Reopens After £3m Improvements
Guys...your holidays in Cornwall have just got a whole lot better, as Jubilee Pool in Penzance reopens its door for the first time since storm damage forced its closure in 2014.
The Grade II Listed Art Deco lido, the UK’s largest active seawater pool, suffered structural damage in the severe January and February 2014 storms, but reopened over the bank holiday weekend after a £3m renovation project.
Boundary walls have been repaired, new railings put in place, paving laid and new drainage and electrical systems installed. There are even plans in place to heat the seawater using geothermal energy!
Jubilee Pool has been a leading attraction for Penzance since it was first opened in 1935, and its reopening is a big boost for the town as the sun continues to shine.
The pool remained shut for 2 years as a Coastal Communities funded project was underway to restore and improve the pool.
Did anyone staying at our Cornwall holiday parks get to enjoy Jubilee Pool over the stunning bank holiday weekend?
