Newquay Airport shortlisted for PrivateFly award

Those that have visited Cornwall on their last minute caravan holidays from the furthest points of the UK may have chosen to fly into Newquay Cornwall Airport, rather than opting for the long drive.

Newquay will be competing against 36 destinations from around the world, including Cape Town, Hong Kong, Rio de Janeiro and Mustique.

Newquay Cornwall Airport's operations manager Richard Thomasson said: "The approach to either of our runways gives passengers a snapshot of how beautiful our county is.

"The airport would be grateful if the community could show their support by voting to raise global awareness of how accessible Cornwall is by flying to and from Newquay."

Next month the 36 destinations will be shortened to just 10 before the winner is announced. Travellers can submit their vote at www.privatefly.com/airport-poll/PrivateFlyAirportPoll.html.
