North Devon chefs launch Seadog seafood trailer
Ciao!
Being a chef myself, I like to keep up to date on the local food scene. The latest foodie news coming out of Ilfracombe has already got my seafood taste buds tingling in preparation for my next family holiday UK.
Two North Devon chefs have teamed up to launch Seadog â an Ilfracombe based seafood trailer, which serves up travel influenced dishes from only locally sourced produce.

Jim Coslett, who runs the Olive Room restaurant, has collaborated with former sous chef Beth Newsome to create a unique seafood menu for the trailer, which will be located close to Devon Coast, Golden Coast and Ilfracombe Holiday Park.
You can expect to find delizioso dishes like Vietnamese summer rolls with local mackerel and Jamaican fish pasties â an interesting twist on a traditional favourite, which I cannot wait to try!
Jim said: âOnly 3% of seafood caught in North Devon stays in the area.
âAll of our fish and seafood will be sourced from Devon boats and North Devon wherever possible.
âWe're forging links with local suppliers and have also applied for a licence which means we can buy direct from the smaller boats and suppliers rather than buying through wholesalers.â
Seadog will be working with the North Devon Flag programme, supporting the fishing industry through the promotion of local, sustainable fishing.
After launching at the Bradworthy Arts festival in early May, you will find Seadog at the Barnstaple Beer Festival and Clovelly Herring Festival during your family weekend breaks.
Jim added that he was looking forward to serving his fresh dishes face to face as opposed to working behind the scenes in a restaurant:
âIn a restaurant you're in the background.â
âIt will be nice to see people's reactions to the food you serve them.â
