Record-breaking Easter will have you reaching for the sunscreen!

Visiting our Devon holiday parks this Easter? Keep that sunscreen close at hand, I'm hearing reports April could be the hottest we've experienced in a good few years.

Forecasters have predicted that the mercury might hit highs of 80F, or 27°C to most of us! That'd make it a recording-breaking Easter, with temperatures exceeding previous heights in 1984 and 2011.

We'll also be able to boast of hotter weather than Greece, Spain and even North Africa!

Piers Corbyn, forecaster for WeatherAction, said: "There will be big variations due to the wildly deviating jet stream, so there will be periods of extremely cold weather followed by unusually hot."

The hotter weather conditions have been brought about by an El Niño event, where high sea surface temperatures in the Pacific Ocean and changes in atmospheric conditions affect global weather patterns.

News of an Easter bank holiday heatwave would be welcome by both locals and visitors on their caravan holidays in Devon.

Are you one of them? How are you planning on taking advantage of the sunshine? I'm heading down to the beach – I just hope the surfs pumping like it has been lately!
