Sir Bradley Wiggins to lead Team Sky through Devon
Those of you visiting South Bay Holiday Park on your cheap family holidays UK next month are in for a real treat! You’ll get the chance to see the superstar that is Sir Bradley Wiggins lead Team Sky through the winding roads of Devon.
Wiggins returns to Devon on Thursday, September 11 aiming to retain his Tour of Britain title.
The 2012 Tour de France winner and Olympic gold medalist will lead Team Sky at this year’s Tour of Britain, Sir Dave Brailsford confirmed to the BBC.
The Devon Stage of Britain’s biggest cycle race will cover a huge 110 miles of the county – starting in Exmouth and finishing in Exeter.
Stage 5 will challenge the riders with three Skoda King of the Mountains climbs at Mamhead, Haytor, on Dartmoor, and Stoke Woods/Pennsylvania Road, on the outskirts of Exeter. The stage offers some awesome viewing points for those taking in the race on your cheap self catering holidays, these include Budleigh Salterton, Topsham, Bovey Tracey, Princetown and Tavistock, with Yodel Direct Sprint points at Powderham Castle, Chudleigh and Crediton.
Devon County Council Cabinet Member for Highways, Stuart Hughes, said: “I’m sure everyone will be delighted to see Sir Bradley Wiggins return as he bids to retain his Tour of Britain title.”

The 2014 Tour kicks off in Liverpool, September 7 and finishes in London on Sunday, September 14.
