Skyscanner hands Saunton Sands the title of “UK’s best beach”
There is no argument when it comes to which part of the UK has the best beaches...agreed?
It's North Devon of course! And this is backed up by how often they're recognised in national and worldwide polls of the top stretches of sand.
Here at John Fowler Holidays we're privileged that our Devon holiday parks are just a short drive from amazing stretches like Woolacombe, Croyde, Putsborough and Saunton Sands – the latter of which is the latest top a list!
Skyscanner, the leading travel search site, has handed Saunton Sands the title of 'the UK's best beach", favouring the North Devon coast over spots in East Sussex, Cornwall and Wales.
The three miles of golden sand are extremely popular throughout the year, for locals and tourists. The unique backdrop of Braunton Burrows is just one of the beach's interesting points – another being the take offs and landings of the Lockheed C-130 Hercules from the north end!
Regular readers of my blog will be aware that I'm a big fan of Saunton Sands too. When I'm visiting all of you guys on your caravan holidays in Devon, I often go for a surf at Saunton – I love the long lines you get, perfect for my longboard!
FREDDY'S FUN FACT: Saunton Beach has featured in the music videos of songs such as 'Angels', by Robbie Williams and Olly Mur's 'hand On Heart'.
