There’s a walk here for everyone, whether you’re after a gentle stroll or a full day of adventure!
Coastal highlights around Cardigan Bay
Cardigan Bay is home to one of the most scenic sections of the Wales Coast Path, stretching for miles with ever-changing views of cliffs, beaches and wildlife.
A must-try is the Ynys Lochtyn circular walk near Llangrannog, where rugged cliffs meet turquoise waters. On a clear day, you can see for miles across the bay, making it a favourite for photographers and nature lovers alike.
For something shorter and family-friendly, the Aberporth to Tresaith walk offers an easy coastal route with panoramic sea views—and if you’re lucky, you might even spot dolphins just offshore!
If you’re keen to explore further, the wider Ceredigion Coast Path offers 60 miles of varied terrain, from sandy beaches to dramatic cliffs, all easily enjoyed in shorter sections.
Peaceful walks near Llanrhidian & the Gower
On the Gower Peninsula, the landscape changes to rolling countryside, salt marshes and sweeping estuary views.
Right on the doorstep of Llanrhidian, you’ll find a network of scenic walking routes through woodland, farmland and marshland, with over 38 km of paths to explore.
One standout route is the Llanrhidian to Cheriton walk, a peaceful countryside trail that links charming villages and follows part of the Wales Coast Path.
For a classic Gower experience, try the walk from Cwm Ivy to Llanrhidian, where you’ll cross one of the largest salt marshes in Wales and enjoy views of historic landmarks like Weobley Castle.
And if you’re after iconic scenery, head a little further afield to Rhossili Bay, where wide sandy beaches and dramatic cliffs make for one of the most unforgettable walks in the UK.
