Four amazing UK sunset spots
Nothing beats a beautiful sunset when you're on holiday. You've had an amazing day, full of adventure, fun and memories made and now you're looking to relax and watch the golds and reds cast across a stunning view.
We are very lucky that many of our holiday parks are close to some of the most picturesque places to watch magnificent sunsets in the UK. We've got four great sunset spots to share with you:
Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, West Wales
This stretch of the coastline is not only great for walks but a perfect place for watching sunsets. With stunning rock formations, an abundance of wildlife and stretches of white sandy beaches you will want prime position when the sun goes down here. The national park is around 1.5 hours away from our Cardigan Bay Holiday Park, so why not spend the day surfing, coasteering or simply relaxing before you capture that sunset?
Glastonbury Tor, Somerset
Glastonbury is a place steeped in history and magic. Popular for its abbey, White Spring and the infamous Glastonbury Tor, it's a must-see when in Somerset. The tor itself, home to a 15th century tower, is not only a place of huge historical and spiritual significance but also the perfect spot to watch the sun set. Many Pagan and Christian celebrations take place at the Tor throughout the year, with people gathering together to celebrate the cycle of the sun - particularly the winter and summer solstices. What better place to set yourself down to enjoy the hues? Glastonbury is less than an hour's drive from our Sandy Glade and Sandy Meadows Holiday Park.
Tintagel Castle, North Cornwall
Bathed in fascinating Arthurian history, Tintagel Castle is an iconic landmark on the Cornish coastline. Learn all about the legend of King Arthur as you explore the ruins of the castle, looking out over the rugged coast and turquoise waters. There is a café on site and plenty to see and do in the area whilst you wait for that glorious sunset over the ocean and castle ruins. Less than 1 hour from our Perran View Holiday Park near Perranporth, and 0.5 hours away from our Widemouth Bay Caravan Park, you've got great bases ready and waiting following your sunset adventure.
Woolacombe beach, North Devon
Renowned for its excellent surfing opportunities - becoming part of the World Surfing Reserve in 2023 - and other water sports activities, Woolacombe beach in North Devon is unsurprisingly a popular place to be. Spend the day walking the lengths of its white sands over to Putsborough, explore the dunes, handy surf shops and cafés before hitting the surf schools, then pick your spot to watch an amazing sunset. Just less than 0.5 hour's drive away from our Sandaway and Combe Martin Beach Holiday Park, it's the perfect sunset spot, right on the doorstep.
