VIDEO: Magazine and video released to attract tourists to Somerset

Happy New Year my friends, or as we say in Italy Buon Anno. I know it's a bit late to be saying it, but this is my first blog of the New Year so I wanted to wish you guys well for 2015!

With the new season on countdown, I've spent the majority of this year at our Somerset holiday parks, doing a spot of early preparation. I like to keep myself updated with the news down here and the latest story and accompanying video caught my eye...

The Somerset and Exmoor holiday industry looks set for a boom, with the upcoming release of a publication, designed to promote the many delights of rural tourism in the region.

Somerset & Exmoor Great Escapes, produced by Greentraveller, will supplement January's edition of BBC Countryfile Magazine, as well as being promoted through online channels and video.

The publication highlights Somerset as a sustainable rural tourist destination and was made possible after Somerset County Council and partners secured funding. David Hall, Somerset County Council cabinet member, added: “This publication should really help to highlight everything that Somerset has to offer at this crucial time of year, when so many potential visitors are planning ahead for their breaks.”

Featured are 30 unique ideas to attract tourists to Somerset and Exmoor. These include observing starling murmurations on the Somerset Levels, discovering the local cuisine, experiencing Exmoor's International Dark Sky Reserve and walking in the footsteps of the famous.
