VIDEO: Sand artist creates 160-metre starfish on Brean Beach
Visitors to our holiday park in Somerset last week might have heard whisperings of something special happening on Brean Beach?
Well I can reveal exactly what was going down right here â check out the video...
Simon Beck, a renowned sand and snow artist, used Brean Beach as the canvas for his latest piece of work, a 160-metre sand starfish.
With the help of five others, Simon's awesome masterpiece was carved into the sand over six hours at low tide.
Simon said: âWe had a great team together this week and created a six-sided hexagon with a star in the middle that stretched out to the edges.â
âThe design started small and grew as we made progress through the day, with one eye on the incoming tide. It's my biggest design here this year.â
âIt's so rewarding to look down on the finished work from the top of Brean Down when you are finished before it gets washed away by the tide.â
Did anyone staying at our Somerset caravan park manage to capture any photos of the sand art? I'd love to see it over on my Facebook page.
