St Piran's Day Celebrations | 05 March

First up is St Piran's Day, the national day of Cornwall. Celebrations cover the entire county at the start of March, so you're sure to catch some activities during your Cornwall holidays.

In Redruth, the St Piran's Day Festival commences at 10am with the procession rolling through Fore Street at midday. Entertainment comes from ROAST, Redruth Town Band, Cornwall Rock Choir plus plenty more.

Truro are holding a St Piran's Market on Lemon Quay from 9am to 4pm. Cornish performers will be providing entertainment throughout the day with the traditional parade starting at 1pm. St Piran's Concert runs from 6.30pm to 8pm – tickets are £10 including a bowl of Cornish chilli!

Falmouth's St Piran's Day runs from 10am to 11.40am. There is a celebration of St Piran with a Furry Dance by schoolchildren and local musicians. The procession leaves from the Moor finishing up at Lower Killigrew Street.

World Pasty Championships | 05 March

What better event to visit during the St Piran's Day celebrations than the World Pasty Championships? Celebrating Cornwall's famous savoury snack!

The 2016 World Pasty Championships will again be staged at the Eden Project, with traditional and unique recipes invited from all over the globe.

Amateurs and professionals will battle it out for the coveted title of World Pasty Champion, with music and comedy entertaining the crowds throughout the day.

Falmouth Spring Festival | 10-28 March

The Falmouth Spring Festival takes place from the 10th to the 28th March and brings together the local Falmouth community like no other event.

The festival brings an explosion of colour and life to the town, celebrating Falmouth's open spaces, beautiful coastline and wonderful gardens.

Kicking off the event is 'Paint The Town Yellow Day', when Falmouth gets splattered in yellow. Schoolchildren and design students from Falmouth University brighten up shop windows with daffodils and decorations.

Throughout the month there is Falmouth Spring Clean Days, Run Falmouth, Games on The Moor, the Spring Flower Show and the much anticipated Cider & Folk Fayre.

Trereife Easter Food & Craft Fair | 25-28 March

What better event to add to your diaries when you're self catering in Cornwall, than Trereife House's Easter Food & Craft Fair! Visitors to St Ives Holiday Village and Tolroy Manor can find it just a short drive away.

The sixth annual Fair, from 25-28 March, looks set to cement itself as one of the top Easter events in the Duchy.

Since its start-up, the event has attracted some of the finest local food producers and chefs, which continues this year with a programme of highly entertaining workshops. All ingredients will be locally sourced, promoting the fact “Cornish is best”!

Topping the list of every sweet-toothed youngster will be the Grand Easter Egg Hunt, where clues will send the chocolate-craving visitors on an adventure around the house's spectacular grounds.
