What's On This Feb Half Term in Somerset
Hey Foxy Friends! Only 4 weeks to go until February Half Term Holidays and this year we are opening our Somerset Holiday Parks – Sandy Glade & Sandy Meadows. I can’t wait to see you all and party at Foxy Club for the first time this year! We have an awesome entertainment programme lined up for the week which will be revealed soon, but for now check out the cool events going on in Somerset!
Wookey Hole - February half term fun at Wookey Hole with circus shows and NEW Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs 4D experience! As ever, your ticket includes entry into all of the attractions with a cave tour, Valley of The Dinosaurs, museums, paper making demonstrations, play areas, penny arcade, mirror maze and more! The Museum of Somerset – With plenty to offer families of all ages this February half term, The Museum of Somerset will have a varied activity programme throughout the week, including the popular Castle Day. This day is being held on 11th Feb inspired by Taunton’s 12th century castle; visitors can attend Knight School and learn how to become a noble knight whilst Taunton Garrison will be doing historic re-enactments, plus arts and crafts and more. The day runs from 10.00 am to 5.00 pm and costs £3 per person (age 3+) or £10 for a family.
A week of children’s activities is inspired by the vibrant art of Hans Schwarz, now displayed at the museum. The ‘Colourful Portraits’ activity runs from 10.30 am to 1.00 pm and from 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm and costs £1 per child (ages 3–11.) A ‘Colour Trail’ around the museum, costing £1, will also be available from 10 to 17 February.
West Somerset Railway – Snowdrops & Steam will be running on the 18th February at West Somerset Railway, where passengers will see the beautiful display of spring flowers in Snow Drop Valley, one of the finest sights of Exmoor. The journey starts from Bishops Lydeard Station at 10.15am travelling by steam train to alight at Dunster Station, where a connecting road coach will meet you for your moorland journey to Wheddon Cross.
Bristol Zoo – There’s an exciting opportunity to become a Zoo Detective at Bristol Zoo Gardens this February. Running from 10th – 25th, a fun ‘zoodunnit’ will take you around the whole 12 acre zoo to solve the special half term mystery. Refer to your Zoo Detective Handbook as you discover clues around the zoo, crack codes and solve the mystery!
