Woolacombe named in Europe’s top 10 beaches
Hey everyone, it's Freddy!
I'm sure it's not just me that spends most of my time on Woolacombe Beach during my caravan holidays in Devon? The 3 mile stretch of golden sand gives me so much space to have a kick about and the waves are sick there too!
So it's no surprise to me that Woolacombe has just been named as Europe's 7th best beach in TripAdvisor's 2014 Travellers' Choice awards.
The beach was also named as the 2nd best in the UK for the second successive year, narrowly losing out to Rhossili Bay in Swansea. Another North Devon beach, Saunton Sands placed at 24th in the UK. Both are just a short drive from Ilfracombe Holiday Park, Devon Coast Holiday Park, Golden Coast Holiday Park, Combe Martin Beach Holiday Park and Sandaway Beach Holiday Park.
The award winners were determined based on the quality and quantity of user reviews left on TripAdvisor over 12 months.
TripAdvisor spokesman, James Kay said: âThese awards recognise the best beaches in the UK and worldwide, according to the travellers that have visited and given them the highest levels of praise.
âTo have a North Devon beach named among the best in Europe just goes to show how lucky we are in the UK to have such stunning scenery right on our doorstep.â
Cheffy will be pleased that Rabbit Beach, Lampedusa, Italy was the winner of the best beach in Europe!
