World’s first drive-through pasty shop to be a big hit in Cornwall!
It’s been a while since I blogged about the foodie scene down here in the South West, but I’m excited to share the latest news surrounding Cornwall’s most famous snack.
Step aside McDonalds, KFC and Burger King, drive-through pasties are in town.
You heard me right! Believed to be the first of it’s in kind in the world, a drive-through pasty shop is on the brink of opening in Cornwall.
While a visit to one of the county’s quaint cafes is a must during your self catering holidays, sometimes your busy schedule calls for a quicker, more convenient food stop, and Marion Symonds has setup the perfect solution.
"People don't want to get out of their cars," said the former Great British Bake Off contestant.
"So many towns now have been shut off and the bakers are in there. You have to go into a car park and walk to the baker's to buy a pasty.”
"We thought if you stayed in your car and drove through the queues might come here instead of other drive-through restaurants."
Marion will serve pasties and cream teas to customers on-the-go from the end of this month.
Located in Pool, the drive-through will be part of a bakery, coffee-shop and restaurant that will bring around 40 jobs to the area.
I’m not sure about you lot, but I’m super excited about this – I’m sure you can tell! I want to know how many of you are planning to drop by and pick up a pasty during your UK self catering holidays?
