Extended 3 day programme for 9th annual GWR Polo on the Beach

One of the most anticipated events in the Cornish calendar returns for its ninth year tomorrow, and the 3 day programme of entertainment has been a hot topic at our caravan parks this week!

The award-winning GWR Polo on the Beach, just a short drive from Perran View Holiday Park, takes over the golden sand of Watergate Bay this weekend, with world-class polo, equestrian displays and all-round family entertainment.

Previously a 2 day spectacle, GWR Polo on the Beach has been extended this year to take place on Friday 26th, Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th June. Thousands are expected on the hallowed sand at Watergate Bay, as international players face-off in exciting and exhilarating polo matches.

Watergate Bay's Will Ashworth said: “Polo on the Beach is always a major highlight for us, and we're planning our biggest event to date for 2015.”

“Around 10,000 people joined us last year to watch international polo players take to the sand. We saw some brilliant family entertainment on the beach with lots of opportunities for the public to get involved, and this year spectators can expect even more.”

Polo matches will take place at 6pm on Friday 26th and Saturday 27th with various other events keeping you entertained throughout the day. Sunday 28th will be all about families, with horse and dog displays plus plenty more.

Saturday evening sees International DJ Krystalroxx take to the decks, as GWR Polo on the Beach hosts its first ever beach party! Having recently performed with Fatboy Slim and fresh from a tour with Taio Cruz, Krystal knows exactly what to do get the thousands onto their feet! A selection of street food vendors, a Champagne Airstream and beach bar will be open throughout.

Despite its growth over the years and extended format in 2015, Polo on the Beach remains a free event, and one I can highly recommend for anyone on UK caravan holidays this weekend.
