Burnham-on-Sea Bank Holiday Beer Festival!
Ciao friends, it’sa meee Cheffy!
If you’re staying at holiday parks in Somerset over the May Bank Holiday weekend and are a bit of a real ale connoisseur, then I’ve got the perfecto event for you.
The Beer Festival will be returning to The Ritz in Burnham-on-Sea for a third year from Friday 2nd May, with live entertainment, great food and most importantly, 25% more beers than last year!
Admission is free and some of the most popular local beers will be on show during the festival, including Quantock Ales’ Will Neck and Royal Stag, Yeovil Ales’ Stargazer and last year’s favourite Glastonbury Ales’ Love Monkey.
Coming from Italy I can’t look past our own Peroni or a glass of fine white wine, but after spending many self catering Somerset holidays at Sandy Glade, I’ve grown accustomed to the locally brewed real ales.
Spokesman for the festival, Mike Barsby said: “This year’s festival features a fabulous array of mainly local real ales”
“The 2014 festival has an even bigger choice of ales and for the first time one brewery will win Burnham’s best beer of the festival award, as voted for by visitors. A full list of the beers and ciders on offer will be available nearer the event, and a beer tasting and voting card will be handed out to everyone on arrival.”
Live music from local bands will feature throughout the weekend, with acoustic folk group Rustique opening and closing the Festival. Six Machine will fill the Saturday night slot with 3-piece band The Talk Show Hosts covering bands such as The Beatle, Arctic Monkeys and Oasis on the Sunday.
