Caribbean breeze brings spring sunshine to south west
The doors to John Fowler Holiday Parks are officially open today, and those of you who booked our self catering accommodation for the opening weekend are being rewarded with some superb weather!
Reports claim a Caribbean breeze is set to carry some of the warmest weather of the year to Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.
Temperatures are even expected to top Mediterranean hotspots such as Corfu, Istanbul and Sardinia, in Cheffy's homeland of Italy.
Not only is this weekend bringing sun, but reports are also suggesting surf of up to seven foot in some coastal spots â this might be the perfect time to dust off my surfboard for its first outing of 2015!
Forecasters expect weather to change this afternoon, carrying on into the weekend. Mercury could reach 15C in some areas as we wave goodbye to the wet and wintry conditions.
Simon Partridge, a Met Office spokesperson, said: âWe are going to have some milder conditions and there will be a marked change with spring temperatures from Saturday.â
âThe mild weather is coming in from the South West, which originated in the Caribbean area and across the Atlantic.â
So that begs the question, who has just added a day at the beach to their self catering holidays to-do list?
