Celebrity seal spotted near South Bay Holiday Park
Lucille the celebrity seal has made an incredible 200 mile journey around the south west coast and has been spotted in several locations near our UK holiday parks. Yesterday it was confirmed that Lucille had been spotted in Brixham close to our South Bay Holiday Park.
The beautiful seal was first spotted near our Cornwall holiday parks in Looe in 2009 and has since been followed closely by researchers from the Seal Research Trust to track the lifestyle and movements of grey seals. Every year she leaves Looe Island to go and have her pups and she has headed to Lundy or Wales, judging by her sightings on the north Cornish coast.
CSGRT is keen to get seal sightings records, even for a single seal seen in the sea.
It is as easy as emailing sue@cornwallsealgroup.co.uk with a date/location and number of seals on land/in the sea – photos are a bonus – like with Lucille we might even be able to tell which seal has been seen along with their backstory.
Now Lucille has been spotted in Brixham by our Devon holiday parks researchers can confirm she has swum around 200 miles of the southwest coastline. We hope to see Lucille back in South Devon later in the year!
