Coldplay to headline BBC Radio 1’s Big Weekend in Devon

Super exciting news for anyone staying at our holiday parks in Devon this May Bank Holiday, as Radio 1 announces its Big Weekend is coming to Exeter!

You won't believe who the headline act is...COLDPLAY!

That's right, BBC Radio 1 have managed to bring Coldplay back home, to play at Europe's biggest free festival.

The two-day music event takes place at Powderham Castle, between 28th and 29th May during the final Bank Holiday.

Coldplay's front man Chris Martin said: “I lived the first few years of my life less than 500 yards from where we'll be performing so this couldn't be more of a homecoming for me.”

"Guy, Will, Jonny and I are honoured to be on the bill and we're looking forward to a very special show.”

Other acts also announced are the awesome Chase & Status, Bring Me The Horizon Ellie Goulding and Craig David.

Controller of Radio 1, Ben Cooper, said: “We've taken Lady Gaga to Carlisle, Taylor Swift to Norwich and now we're taking Chris Martin back home.”

“We're very proud to be able to bring such a diverse range of acts to Exeter, where they'll be part of our biggest weekend of the year.”

More artists will be added to the bill and announced soon, with ticketing information revealed on 21st March.
