Cornwall preparing for a zombie apocalypse
With Halloween ready to jump out from just around the corner, I’ve got the perfect story to get you in the mood for October 31st.
If plans continue to develop, you’ll soon be adding ‘fighting off a zombie apocalypse’ to your list of things to do during your holidays in Cornwall!
No need to rub your eyes, you read that right! A group is pressing on with their plans for a zombie apocalypse survival game in the region.
The adrenaline fuelled game will feature actors dressed as zombies chasing you, the final apocalypse survivors, over specially adapted terrain.
To survive the apocalypse, players must make it to a designated safe-zone, without being caught and infected by the relentless zombies!
Katie Truscott, who was tasked with taking the plans forward, is after ideas around locations and venues where the game can be staged. She said: “The idea is to have a survival scenario type challenge, the aim is to collect all the supplies around the area (which will be marked on a map each team will have) and get back to the 'safe zone' without getting infected.”
“There'll obviously be zombies roaming around, some just stumbling and roaming, others nearer the end chasing, to get the adrenaline rush in there. There'll be props of all sorts and a lot of creativity going into that side of things.”
“Zombies will be armed with invisible ink pens, so at the end when entering the safe zone they'll be checked with a UV light to see if they fell to the infection,” Katie added.
Popular zombie survival games are already in action around the UK, including Birmingham, Cardiff, Yorkshire and Huddersfield. I’m going to follow this one closely, I’d love to take a group from our Cornwall holidays parks and have a crack at it!
