Cornwall Wildlife Trust teams up with Cornwall businesses to launch sustainable seafood guide
Hello my friends, it's Cheffy here.
Like me, a lot of you guys taking holidays in Cornwall will indulge in the famous Cornish seafood this year.
With a new online resource â produced by the Cornwall Wildlife Trust, local businesses and fisherman â you can make better choices when choosing what seafood you're eating in the county.
The Cornwall Good Seafood Guide brings you all the information you need to choose the highest quality fish, harvested using the most marine friendly methods.
Matt Slater, from the Cornwall Wildlife Trust, said before the upcoming launch event: âConservationists and fishermen are not on opposing teams â a healthy marine environment is essential for productive fisheries, and productive fisheries can only exist when the marine environment is healthy.â
âOur Cornish fishing industry is something we should all be proud of but knowing what fish to buy is a complicated issue. This event at Looe will highlight good practices and encourage locals and visitors alike to buy Cornish.â
The event takes place in West Looe on February 19th and local chefs will be on hand to share tips on buying, preparing and cooking sustainable Cornish seafood.
