Final Countdown To 121st Devon County Show
With just a few days to go until Devon's flagship event opens its doors for 2016, we can say the final countdown has officially started.
The 121st Devon County Show kicks off this Thursday, 19th May, and more than 95,000 visitors are expected over three days at the Westpoint Showground, Exeter.
If you're thinking about making a visit while on your caravan holidays in Devon, here are some of the standout attractions from the event's programme...
Mole Valley Farmers Arena
The Mole Valley Famers Arena showcases the headline attractions. This year they come in the form of the Shetland Pony Grand National, where pint-sized ponies race the course chasing the ultimate prize, and a jaw-dropping adrenaline-fuelled performance from motocross stunt team the Bolddog Lings. Over Friday and Saturday the Arena will also host the Grand Parades of Livestock.
New for 2016 is the 'Devon Eye', a scaled-down version of London's iconic attraction, which will give stunning views of the 93-acre showground from more than 30m high!
Food...and lots of it!
When it comes to food halls, not many can compete with the Devon County Show's Food & Drink Pavilion. Foodies from all over the country flock to the pavilion for the best in Cornish produce. You'll find local meats, fruit and vegetables, cheese, pasties and pastries as well as award-winning ales, ciders and beers.
Ladies, what do you think about a 2-mile stretch of shopping, with more than 750 stalls of suppliers? You'll find everything from home and garden to equestrian and agriculture.
