Flash prize up for grabs in Cornish Guardian photography competition
Time off from The Foxy Club is a rare occurrence during the summer, but when I do get a day off you'll probably find me out and about taking pictures of the amazing coastline â that's if the surf's flat of course!
With the boom in smartphones and other sweet cameras, like Go Pros, there has never been an easier time to snap a high quality picture on the go. Some of you guys have shown me awesome pictures you've captured from our holiday parks in Cornwall.
These photos create magical holiday memories, but they could win you a flash prize too!
Newspapers the Cornish Guardian, The Cornishman, West Briton and the Cornwall Today magazine have all joined forces to run a photography competition that is free to enter for everyone.
The competition theme is 'Beautiful Cornwall', so it's up to you to find a beautiful Cornish setting for the perfect picture â not that that should be difficult, we're surrounded by them down here!
Your picture will have to negotiate its way through three tricky rounds, before being named the winner. The first is an online round where thousands of entries battle it out to gain votes. This will create a top 50, which will all appear in newspaper supplements as part of the second round. Paper voting will narrow the field down to just 12, all of which will appear in a DCMedia calendar which will be given away free of charge with the December issue of Cornwall Today.
A judging panel will decide the eventual winner from the final 12, who will snap up a top of the range Panasonic DMC-FZ1000 bridge camera, worth a whopping £599!
Only entries uploaded by 6th September will be eligible.
Freddy's Top Tip: There are some superb locations you can easily snap during your caravan holidays in Cornwall â Kynance Cove, Land's End, Carbis Bay and St Michael's Mount could all put you in contention!
For the keen Instagrammers, you'll have to make do without filters like Lark and Crema I'm afraid!
