Freddy’s Top 4 Wet Weather Days Out in Somerset
Errmmm...what's going on with this weather guys?!
While you may have opted for brollies over barbeques on your Somerset caravan holidays this week, the rain shouldn't put you off getting out and exploring what the county has to offer.
Okay you're probably not keen on going to the beach in the rain, so I've put together a guide of my top 4 wet weather days out in Somerset! Check them out here...
Wookey Hole
First on my list of favourite wet weather attractions HAS to be Wookey Hole â one of the best family days in Somerset.
Wookey Hole boasts Britain's most spectacular and impressive caves, along with the infamous Witch of Wookeyâ¦
As well as the breathtaking caves, this historic family attraction features a Magical Mirror Maze, a hand-made paper mill and you can take a step back in time by wandering through the valley of the dinosaurs!
In what is guaranteed to be a busy summer for Wookey Hole, they're also in the middle of a £3million expansion project, opening up previously unseen caverns beneath the Mendips.
Visitors purchasing day tickets online save 15%, this includes FREE Pirate Island Adventure Golf.
Grand Pier
Weston-super-Mare's Grand Pier is the ultimate when it comes to 21st century theme parks and stakes its claim as one of the top attractions throughout Somerset.
Open 7 days a week rain or shine, the Grand Pier offers attractions and activities including Go-Karts, a children's play area, amazing 4D cinema, slot machines and lots more all under 1 rainproof roof!
The 10 food and drink outlets provide a variety of fresh snacks and hot meals, like the seaside favourite fish & chips! You're more likely to find me wandering around with an enormous ice cream from the take-away parlour.
Pier entry is FREE and all day unlimited ride wristbands are available from just £12.50.
SeaQuarium
Keep yourselves dry, while watching the sea life thrive in the wet at Western-super-Mare's SeaQuarium.
The aquarium, just a short journey from our Somerset holiday parks, can be found on its very own pier right on Western-super-Mare seafront.
You'll get educated on freshwater, marine and tropical species from all over the world. Specific zones include the Tropical Reef Zone, were you'll spot puffer fish and moray eels, the Ray Zone, where you can get up close and personal with British marine rays, and last but by no means least the Ocean Tunnel, where you'll be surrounded by sharks.
Brean Splash Waterpark
It might not be your first thought during a downpour, but if you're getting wet anyway why not go to a waterpark? That's logical right guys?!
The outdoor pool complex and slides can be closed in extreme weather, but don't fret, Indoor Splash has everything you need for a wicked day in the water!
Indoor Splash features a 25m heated swimming pool, Splash Zone where the mischievous fun goes down, Water Walkerz and some wicked slides.
That lot should keep you entertained on your holidays in Somerset!
