New app for the West Somerset Railway
When my family and I go on our annual cheap family holidays UK I find it's hard to get the children interested in the culture of the area where we're staying.
So I was excited to read about a new app which will make the West Somerset Railway more interactive.
The railway's launching its new app next week, the 'Augmented Reality Heritage Hunter'. It's meant to help everyone who rides the railway mix the history and heritage of a ride on a 152-year-old line with technology.
It should make it easy to learn about the railway's history, its stations, engines and the parts of Somerset it runs through.
I'm going to get Freddy to put the app on my phone when it comes out and then use it next time we visit Sandy Glade Holiday Park in Burnham-on-Sea.
Hopefully that will help him stay interested when we visit the railway.
Even if it doesn't, I'll tell him about the prize for completing the 'Heritage Hunter' section of the app. But I might not tell him the prize is a year's worth of vouchers for the railway!
