Somerset gets behind National Golf Month
When the sun is shining there's nothing I love more than getting out in the fresh air for a round of golf.
My clubs are one of the first things I pack when visiting Somerset on my weekend breaks UK â there's something about the links courses around Sandy Glade Holiday Park that makes the sport even more enjoyable, although a little more stressful!
I'm delighted to see golf clubs across Somerset getting behind National Golf Month, offering a wide range of activities at fantastic value, supporting the push to get more people involved in the game.
The message from England's Get into Golf campaign is that it's never been easier to get started in the sport. The campaign promotes low-cost taster sessions and courses for beginners, so why not give it a try during your short UK breaks?
Acting Somerset County Development Officer, Nick Pope, said: âNational Golf Month is highlighting the opportunities on offer in our county which is great news for people who want to take up or return to golf.â
âThey'll find a warm welcome, our golf clubs and driving ranges are passionate about encouraging people to get into golf.â
âGolf is a great game for everyone who enjoys friendship, fresh air and exercise. It can bring impressive health and wellbeing benefits and it's the perfect sport for bringing people together. There's never been a better time to start.â
Cannington, Farrington, Saltford, Taunton & Pickeridge and Wells are a handful of the Somerset clubs involved in National Golf Month â a great selection for beginners or more experienced golfers wanting to get back into the sport.
