Visit England report shows value in Devon holidays
Visit England has produced a new report, revealing that people who take Devon holidays agree it's better value than they'd previously expected.
For the majority of people, returning visits are highly likely. That's certainly something we see at our holiday parks in Devon, with visitors captivated by the area coming back year after year.
The report has been released at the same time industry leaders claim good weather through September has brought an additional £6m from tourism to the county.
5,000 English holidaymakers were involved in the study across a 12 month period, and Devon's top 5 strengths were revealed as the high quality beaches, safety, friendly and welcoming people, quality of accommodation and tidiness.
53% of visitors said they'd like to explore the county again.
40% of people who had holidayed in Devon said it's good value, as opposed to 20% of people who had not visited.
Chair of Visit Devon, Carolyn Custerson, said: "It's fantastic to see visitors recognising Devon's strengths as a quality holiday destination.â
âWe have fantastic beaches, great places to stay and offer great value - especially for families. It's no wonder, once tried Devon becomes a regular holiday destination on the calendar.â
âWe hope people who've not been to Devon will visit us and discover why people love it."
