Tolroy Manor Wins Silver Green Tourism Award
All of the staff at Tolroy Manor have been working extra hard to reduce their carbon footprint, to protect and enhance Cornwall's wildlife, supporting local charities and projects and to promote environmental awareness to guests and staff.
Winning the Silver award shows that their hard work has paid off with a number of green initiatives in place and permitting guests to make use of the surroundings which are abundant with wildlife. Throughout the Cornwall holiday park you will find various wildlife habitats that our maintenance team have created including; bird boxes, bat boxes, an owl box, hedgehog hotel, butterfly hotel and a bug B&B.
Lots of LED lamps are in place while new efficient refrigeration equipment and appliances have been installed to many of the accommodation units. Tolroy Manor has also worked very hard to support the local area from stocking Cornish supplies in the on site shop and restaurant and making their very own food bank where guests can leave leftover food from their holiday and the park will donate this to the local church. Not only this but the staff and guests have made a huge effort to really care for the local environment by staff organising regular beach cleans throughout the year.
The Cookhouse Restaurant has also been taking steps to get environmentally friendly. Takeaway boxes have been replaced by 'compost me' recycled cardboard boxes, disposable wooden forks will be used for takeaway and paper bags will replace plastic ones for carrying food items.
Congratulations to everyone at Tolroy Manor, keep up the amazing work!
