Easter launch date for Ilfracombe land train
Hey, it's Freddy!
I can't wait to jump on North Devon's brand new attraction this Easter while I'm visiting Ilfracombe Holiday Park, Devon Coast and Golden Coast.
The Ilfracombe land train, operated by local coach company Filers, is set to cruise around the town's streets this Easter, just in time for your last minute holidays UK!
The train was bought after a £163,000 grant from the EU Leader 4 Torridge and North Devon Programme, to aid tourism in Ilfracombe. North Devon Council contributed an additional £9,000 from money set aside for development.
Residents and tourists to the town on their last minute UK holiday deals will be able to hop on board the Italian made Dotto train and take a seated tour of Ilfracombe. Sights will include the Landmark Theatre, high street, Hillsborough and the world famous Verity, overlooking the harbour.
Managing director of Filers, Roy Filer said: âWe have been offering our coach services for the last 40 years and are more than excited about taking on this new challenge.â
âBeing based in Ilfracombe, we are passionate about the town and hope the whole community will embrace this attraction, giving a further boost to our community.â
The land train has two carriages, with seating for up to 40 people. There are rain covers, but if the weather forecast is anything to go by, you're more likely to need your factor 30!
