September Watersports Activities in Devon
Hi foxy friends! There is an unexpected wave of sunshine that has been shining down on our Devon holiday parks throughout September so far, which has made it a great time for a last minute break in Devon. With the summer holiday crowds gone and the beaches quietened down there has never been a better time to discover all of the watersports activities that Devon holidays have to offer.
Whether you are an adrenaline junkie or you like to enjoy the peace of the ocean you will not be short of watersports when you are staying at one of our holiday parks in Devon.
Here are my favourite watersports to enjoy in Devon!
Surfing
All year round you can enjoy world class waves on both the South Devon and North Devon coasts. There is a huge selection of beaches for professionals and beginners including Woolacombe, Croyde, Baggy Point and Bantham. You won't be short of finding surf schools and instructors to introduce you to this exciting sport and there are also plenty of places to hire surfing equipment if you don't have your own.
Kayaking
If you are staying at Combe Martin Beach or Sandaway Beach Holiday Park we have teamed up with Surfside Kayak Hire, offering our guests a hassle free way to book kayaking activities directly at reception. Surfside offer a full range of kayaks and guided tours along the Combe Martin coast. The kayak hire and tours are suitable for all of the family (even dogs) with all of the equipment included.
Wild Swimming
What better way to get close to nature than wild swimming? There is something for everyone to enjoy from exploring caves, family-friendly paddles, exciting plunge pools and tranquil wild swimming spots - Devon has some of the best spots in the country. Devon has a fantastic selection of outdoor pools, rivers, estuaries and beaches including; the Avon, Erme, Sharrah Pool and Dart.
Coasteering
If you are a thrill-seeker then coasteering is the ultimate activity to enjoy whilst on your cheap UK family holidays. Rock-hopping, shore-scrambling, cliff-jumping and cave-exploring everything an adrenaline junkie needs when discovering the rugged Devon coast. If you are staying at South Bay Holiday Park in Brixham take a trip to Reach Outdoors in Paignton where they offer guided tours and lessons in Coasteering.
Wakeboarding
If you are on holiday in North Devon you have to visit North Devon Wakepark. The stunning lake is situated 10 minutes from the North Devon coast and is the perfect place for an exciting day out in Devon. Cable wakeboarding is similar to skateboarding and snowboarding, but on water and each session comes with a professional coach to teach you everything you need to know. Finish the day off at the aquapark, where you can chase each other around the total wipeout style inflatable course.
Jet Skiing
Jet Set Go! Based in the beautiful English Riviera, Jet Set Go! offers a unique way to explore the Devon coast with a 2 hour jet ski safari. No experience is necessary and the safaris are suitable for all ages with riders will be given the training to confidently ride the jet ski. Discover marine wildlife and make the most of a fantastic day of fun on your Devon family holiday.
