Covid-19 Holidaymaker Updates

UPDATED 27th November

Our St Ives Holiday Village and Sandy Medaows Lodge Park will re-open to holidaymakers on an accommodation only basis from Friday 4th December. We will not be accepting any arrivals from guests booked to come from tier 3 postcode areas. If you do live in a tier 3 area, we will be in touch to discuss your options.

England

In accordance with the latest Government guidance our parks will be closed to holidaymakers from Thursday 5th November to Wednesday 2nd December.

Wales

Our Llanrhidian park will be closed until Monday 9th November. Thereafter whilst available to residents in Wales, restrictions will apply until the 2nd December for those travelling from English regions.

If you were due to holiday during those dates, one of our team will be in touch to either arrange a refund or move your holiday under our Coronavirus Holiday Protection Scheme.

We know how disappointing this is but we hope you understand the importance of doing everything we can to protect the health and safety of both our guests and staff. We send our best wishes to all of our holidaymakers and hope for a speedy and safe return to normality soon.

Travelling from Tier 3 Areas

Please note current government advice for people residing in a tier 3 area states:

If you are a resident in a very high alert level area, we ask you to avoid staying overnight in another part of the UK, except if you need to for work, education or caring responsibilities. This means we are asking you not to leave the very high alert level area to stay in a second home, if you own one.

With this in mind, we will be asking all guests in tier 3 due to arrive in the next 14 days not to travel to our parks. A member of our reservations team will be in touch to discuss your options.

Circuit Break Lockdown announced in Wales

Wales will go into a national lockdown from Friday, 23 October until Monday, 9 November. Everyone will be told to stay at home, while pubs, restaurants and non-essential shops will shut. Travel is limited to essential travel only and holidays are not included in this. If you are due to arrive at one of our holiday parks before 9th November please do not travel as we will not be able to check you in. Our bookings team will be in touch to discuss your options. Full details on the government guidance can be found here.

Local Restrictions in England & Wales

Please note that holiday makers should not attend our Llanrhidian Park from lock down areas, and it is against Welsh Government guidance to leave or enter Swansea unless for essential reasons. Details of local lock down restrictions in Wales can be found here

If you are in a very high risk area in England, people are asked ‘to avoid staying overnight in another part of the UK’ (except for work) and ‘not to leave the very high alert level area to stay in a second home’.  If you are in a high risk area, people ‘can still go on holiday … but you must only do this with people in your household or support bubble.’  In medium risk areas, the rule of 6 applies.

New Measures in England

There are new measures being introduced in England from 24th September. The changes that will come into place on our parks are:

  • All guests and staff must where face coverings indoors unless they are seated at a table
  • Our entertainment venues will close at 10pm
  • All orders for drinks and meals will be table service (maximum 6 people per table)
  • It is now law to provide your contact details each time you visit one of our venues, the official NHS QR code posters are displayed and if you do not have the app we will need to write down your details. Please note, this is a legal requirement and we cannot allow you into a venue if you do not provide your contact details.

Full government guidance can be found here

Local Lockdowns - Wales

Currently the following areas in Wales are under local lockdown:  Bridgend County Borough, Caerphilly County, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Blaenau Gwent County Borough, Merthyr Tydfil County Borough, Newport City. If you have a booking due to arrive while these restrictions are in place we will be in touch to discuss your options.

Rule of 6

The Government has passed new legislation that restricts gatherings of people to a maximum of six either indoors or outdoors. This legislation comes into effect on Monday 14th September. Exemptions will apply for people living in the same household or support bubble only. For full details visit the government website.

Holiday Parks in England can officially re-open from 4th July.

Today the government have announced that holiday parks and campsites can now plan to reopen, so we are delighted to confirm that all our Parks will be welcoming back holidaymakers from 6th July. They have also announced that our bars and restaurants can open with 1m social distancing, so we will be able to make more of our facilities available. Unfortunately our swimming pools have to remain closed for the time being.

Llanrhidian to reopen on Monday 13th July

Holidaymakers and day-trippers will be able to head to Wales from next month, the country’s first minister has announced. Mark Drakeford said that the country’s five-mile travel restriction would be lifted from 6 July as long as coronavirus was still under control at that point.

They have advised the tourism industry that they have 3 weeks to prepare to re-open self contained holiday accommodation. We are preparing to re-open our Llanrhidian Holiday Park on Monday 13th July.

29.5.20

We have been closely monitoring government guidelines in relation to the Coronavirus and how that impacts our holiday parks. We have now taken the very difficult decision to extend the temporary closure of our parks to holidaymakers until Sunday 5th July 2020.

Arrivals up to and including 5th July

If your holiday has been cancelled by us due to park closure, you can choose from one of the following options to give you maximum flexibility.

*Excludes bookings made through third party agents including The Sun and Breakfree

You should have received an email from us with details of how to select one of these options. We understand that you want your booking dealt with as quickly as possible but please be aware it may take a little longer than our usual levels of customer service. We will be working through them as quickly as we can in date order of arrival. Once your booking has been processed we will be in touch to confirm we have made the changes you requested.

Arrivals after 6th July

We are hoping to re-open our parks on 6th July in line with plans laid out by the government. This will remain under constant review as the situation continues to evolve.

We are making wide ranging changes to make sure we can respect social distancing so that everyone can stay safe.  This means that some of our facilities may remain closed initially and will only be opened when it is both permissible and practical to do so. What you can still enjoy are our fantastic locations near some of the best beaches in the UK, the fresh air and countryside that surrounds our parks and our comfortable accommodation.

As holiday homes are perfectly self contained and almost all of our accommodation is 5 metres apart, they are perfect for social distancing. Some of the other measures we have put in place to observe the 2 metre distance include:

  • Simple and visible markers around the Park so you can see where to go and how far apart to stand
  • Revised check in procedures to observe social distancing
  • You'll get a sanitised key to a locked Holiday Home
  • Hand sanitising stations widely available throughout the park
  • Team members will wear appropriate PPE
  • Card payments including contactless are already widely available and will be strongly encouraged
  • Shops will also follow similar safety measures to what you're now used to at home
  • Additional grocery packs of essentials will be available to pre-order ready for your arrival
  • Takeaway food can be ordered from the majority of our food outlets
  • Deep cleaning all accommodation between guests with special attention to high touch items
