This large seaside town in Somerset is home to our Sandy Glade Holiday Park, at the mouth of the River Parrett, upon Bridgwater Bay. With many holiday resorts in the UK, Burnham flourished during the Victorian times and today has everything you need to enjoy a beachside holiday.

Burnham-on-Sea is a thriving town, home to miles of golden beaches along with a pier, a lighthouse, and a busy seaside promenade with cream teas, donkey rides, a view of Hinkley Point, and events throughout the year for both locals and visitors.

Distance: 3 miles (4.8km) Difficulty: Moderate Discover one of the great landmarks of the Somerset coastline on this scenic coastal walk across Brean Down.It's renowned for its wildlife, so keep a look out for a great variety of birds, plants and butterflies whilst on route.

Take a right out of main entrance and cycle for 1.5 miles and the beginning of the path is opposite Brean Village hall. You can then cycle all the way to Uphill beach in Weston-Super-Mare which takes you over lovely farmland without meeting any traffic.

Cross over the road at the main entrance and follow the sandy path to the lovely vast beach. You can also explore the nature reserve and sand dunes here. Dogs are welcome on the beach but must be kept under control and all mess cleared away.

This is a large sandy beach with long promenade (and the shortest pier in the UK!) It is a 5 minute drive from the park or can be accessed by the number 20 bus from outside the park. Dogs are banned on the beach from May 1st to September 30th.
